ONE SPA @ Finest Playa Mujeres in Quintana Roo, Mexico

Had to post this even though we don’t look great just to prove how relaxed we looked after our massage.

As if we weren’t in heaven enough being at this beautiful resort with all of our friends and family, we decided to dive deeper into vacation relaxation mode by visiting the spa. We were impressed not only by our services, but the innovative facility at One Spa. We had a couples massage followed by a hydrotherapy session, and then of course I had to have a blowout to tame the fro in the salon.

Steven is not a big massage guy (I know, he’s a weirdo). But, he said it was one of the best massages he ever had. He opted for a deep tissue and I asked for a lighter massage contrary to the beat down I usually go for. I normally like a really deep massage, but didn’t want to be sore and tired the next day considering I had to be on my best hostess behavior. My massage was nice, but next time I would request a little more pressure. The treatment was very theraputic, comfortable, and full of wonderful calming essential oil therapy. After the massage, we were tucked into a swinging lounge bed. They literally tucked us in like we were little kids after our bedtime story. Only in leu of a bedtime story, we were given scented neck pillows and cucumber water since we’re adults and everything. Swinging or rocking in a hanging bed has so many health benefits such as increased lymphatic circulation, increased blood flow, and reducing swelling and soreness. We would have laid there forever if we didn’t have another appointment.

Next was hydrotherapy. This type of hydrotherapy was a new experience for me. I don’t want to give too much away in case you have the luxury of visiting One Spa because the element of surprise is part of the fun. However, I will warn you, there is a bit of freeeeezing water involved. If you know me at all, being cold is not my thing… even when I know it has its benefits. So, I opted out of just a few parts of the treatment. Even if you are a wimp like me, you would still benefit from this hydrotherapy session. It was much more inclusive than other treatments I’ve done. There were a variety of baths, showers, steam and sauna rooms, exfoliation, and wonderful energizing essential oils in a beautiful and impressive facility. Hydrotherapy has detoxifying and energizing benefits that you can feel immediately.

Ambiance in a spa is almost as important to me as the treatments themselves. They really got it right at One Spa. It feels fresh, clean, and modern but also very comforting, earthy and organic. I’m ready to go back to Mehico now!

A little sneak peak of the facility

The Entrance… ahh it already feels good before you’re even inside
