Healthy Homemade Latte

December 14, 2017

Most of the year I’m not a big coffee drinker but in the winter I love to start my day with a yummy homemade latte. I prefer to make my lattes at home so I can avoid unknown chemicals and ingredients found in many coffee shop drinks and add my own beneficial ingredients that may not be found in most coffee shops. This recipe is my go to because it is quick, easy and tastey. If you are wondering about the cacao butter, I add it to my lattes because it not only makes a silky rich texture, but gives it a chocalaty aroma and has many health benefits.

1 C strong brewed coffee

1/2 C almond milk

1 T raw cacao butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp sugar or stevia

ground cinnamon for garnish

-Brew coffee whichever way you prefer. I like to use the French press because I can make the exact amount I want and let it sit a little longer to make the coffee strong

-Heat almond milk and cacao butter in a small sauce pan on low heat then stir into coffee

-Either stir in or blend in the vanilla extract and sugar. I prefer to blend in my nutribullet for just a few seconds because it makes the consistency nice and frothy

-After mixing or blending, pour into a mug and sprinkle with ground cinnamon

-Cozy up and enjoy immediately before conquering your day 😉
