Funky Basics

December 6, 2017

Our closets include some necessary staple items such as black skirts, white t-shirts and black and white tennis shoes. This outfit is an example of how I like to put a little twist on some basic items to make them less boring… while of course keeping it all animal free.

THE SKIRT

I love how this fabric is soft, light, and comfortable but looks like textured leather. It’s a more interesting and exciting take on a simple black skirt. This leather-free stunner is BCBGeneration and it can be found at Moda Forte Boutique if you are local to Arizona.

THE SHOES

I’ve been gawking over some of Stella McCartney’s sneakers lately; but at $600+ I couldn’t justify spending money on something like platform sneakers that go in and out of style so quickly. Luckily, I found these simple but funky leather-free sneakers at Zara for only $60 and I’m loving them. They’re fun and trendy but still easy to wear with so many differnt things. THE TEE

This simple crew-neck Madewell t-shirt is just slightley less boring than your average plain white tee because of the small chest pocket and the high quality material and it’s available at Nordstrom Rack for less than $20!

THE ACCESORY

Just a simple yellow bandana from J Crew to add a little pop of color!
